WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE A KILLER?

LuAnn’s social media platform gives her thousands of followers an unfiltered look into the world of this wealthy Philadelphia wife and mother. Her Monday morning blog Just Like LuAnn presents her life as both enviable and relatable. As she plans a lavish gala for her 30th wedding anniversary—already teased across Instagram and Facebook—one post sets off a chain of revelations, and LuAnn begins to suspect the boundaries of her private world

aren’t as private as she believed.

When secrets surface, she and her daughters—Gianna, Stella, and Trinity—are pulled into a web of betrayal, blackmail, and deceit. Driven by love and regret, LuAnn has found the means to get away with murder...but does she have the heart to carry it out?

Set in modern-day Philadelphia, this story traces LuAnn’s life: from a curious child exploring the neighborhood mortuary with her best friend, to a young woman entangled with a man whose family legacy is steeped in violence, to a mother reckoning with the aftermath of her grown daughters’ traumas. Through it all, LuAnn is determined to prove the ties that bind her family are stronger than the secrets that threaten to destroy them.

Provocative, funny, and unsettling, Lyn Shaffer’s debut novel will have you

second-guessing everything… just like LuAnn. This immersive 450-page psychological thriller is one you won’t put down.

About Turning the Page with Lyn Shaffer

Lyn Shaffer is a lifelong educator turned novelist whose love of storytelling began at the bedsides of her children during nighttime tuck-ins, and later deepened in the classrooms where she spent seventeen years teaching English at both the middle, high school, and college levels. She later served as a principal, district administrator, and college professor. After retiring in 2024, she returned to her first passion: writing stories that explore the tender complexities of our  human connection.

Lyn lives in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where the region’s layered histories and quiet tensions inspire her work. When she isn’t writing, she’s reading, practicing yoga, painting, or spending cherished time with her family and friends—especially her grandchildren, who remind her daily why stories matter.
