The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides A psychological thriller about a woman who stops speaking after committing a violent act.
I read this book years ago and could not stop thinking about it. So disturbing, but I loved it. Now that the movie is out, I'm definitely rereading the book and then going for popcorn. In the story, Alicia’s silence stayed with me long after I finished. And that final reveal—absolutely chilling in the best possible way.
The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins A gripping tale of obsession and deception, told from multiple perspectives.
I moved through this suspense novel in one week. Since then, I cannot ride a train without looking out the window and worrying I might see something I will regret, something I was never meant to witness—something that could pull me into a stranger’s life the way Rachel was pulled into hers. Yikes!!!!
The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden I'm stunned they turned this into a movie, but I'm probably too scared to watch it. I loved this book, but the idea of getting locked in a room is more than I can handle. The tension builds so fast, and the characters got under my skin in a way I didn’t expect.
